Born in 1956 in Ciales, Puerto Rico, Miguel began his journey with the Servants of Mary as a "servite" and was sent to Epworth, Iowa, to learn English as a second language at a seminary operated by the Divine Word Missionaries. Immersed in a diverse cultural environment, he found inspiration and clarity for his path toward becoming a missionary priest.

Currently serving as the pastor of St. Mark, Seagrit made his initial profession of vows with the Society of the Divine Word on August 22, 1992, at the Chapel of the Holy Spirit in Illinois. He took his perpetual vows on September 16, 1995, and was ordained a priest on March 23, 1996. His first pastoral assignment was at St. Anthony Claret Parish (now part of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish) in Lakewood, within the Diocese of Trenton.
